Actasys — keeping ADAS sensors clean at highway speed
Tested at Quantum-hub's controlled POC playground
the challenge
Dirty sensors, blind vehicles
ADAS and autonomous systems depend on cameras and lidar. Rain, mud, dust, and road splatter can obscure those sensors, reducing the quality of the data on which vehicle systems rely. The POC examined an air-based cleaning approach that can operate on the vehicle.
the approach
A POC on real vehicles
Actasys supplied ActaJet™ systems for cameras and lidar in several vehicle positions. Quantum tested cleaning performance across urban, off-road, pre-driving, and highway scenarios, at different speeds and in daytime and nighttime conditions.
